Elections

The Fifth District elects new officers every other year (years ending in an odd number) at its Spring Convention. Once elected, District Officers serve a two year term.

Committees

All three groups have need of members to serve on committees for the various programs we support. These programs include not only the Department driven programs but some that are specific to the Fifth District. If you're interested in serving on a committee be sure to speak with the leader of your group.

Like most things in life, the more you know, the more you grow. Get involved with this great organization, come to meetings and keep current on what's happening. Ask for copies of your Policies and By Laws and know what the rules are. The more we educate members, the better we are at serving the veterans, their families and the community.

Meetings

The 5th District Legion, Auxiliary and SAL meet the third Sunday of the odd numbered months with a different Post hosting every other month. Depending on conventions, holidays, etc. meetings will not be held in some months. Check the schedule for locations. The SAL neets at 12:30 pm, ALR at 1:15 pm, and the Legion and Auxiliary meet at 2:00 pm. The District holds two conventions per year. The Fall Convention is normally held in October and the Spring Covention is normally held in April. The conventions are held all day on a Saturday.
